Statistician
Precision Bioassay, Inc. is seeking a statistician with a strong biology background to work in our office in Burlington, VT. Our business is entirely focused on statistical methods that support the use of biological assays for discovery, development, release, and quality control of biotechnology products (i.e.; proteins). In addition to consulting to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies worldwide, Precision Bioassay supports our clients in their use of a software package that helps bench scientists perform the statistical portion of bioassays (designs, analyses, and reporting).
The successful candidate will conduct statistical research on bioassay designs and analysis methods, will analyze and report on client data, and will consult with clients. The work will involve programming in R and writing reports using LaTeX.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. David Lansky.
Required
- Ph.D. in statistics or biology with an MS or equivalent in the other discipline
- Education, training or experience equivalent to at least a BS in computer science
- Strong communication skills in English, both orally and in writing
- Working knowledge of R, Sweave, and LaTeX
- Two years or more relevant work experience
- Biology laboratory experience
- Computer programming experience as part of a team
- Assay development and validation experience
- Bioassay experience
- At least one year of experience in non-clinical pharmaceutical statistics
- Knowledge of one language other than English, preferably French or Spanish.
